Holidays

Each office/plant location observes core holidays that vary by location. You will also receive additional “holidays,” known as floating holidays. Floating holidays vary by site, allow employees to observe days that are personally important to them, and can be used as:

  • Vacation
  • Personal days, or
  • To recognize federal or religious holidays not observed at your location

Holidays for the coming year are posted the year prior. Core holidays typically include Christmas Day or observed, New Year’s Day or observed, Martin Luther King Jr Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving.

Educational Assistance

After 90 days of service as an active full-time or part-time employee, you are eligible for education assistance benefits. The Company will reimburse 100% of your eligible costs (up to $5,250 per calendar year for undergraduate courses and $7,500 per calendar year for graduate courses) leading to an associate, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree at an accredited college or university. All courses must be approved in advance to be reimbursed under the program. Employees must pay tax on the value of benefits provided in excess of $5,250 per calendar year.

Scholarship Program

The Company awards several four-year scholarships to the children of Arkema employees. These scholarships aim to encourage academic achievement at the high school level and provide assistance in meeting the cost of higher education.

Volunteer Opportunities

Arkema Builds Community – Community connection is an important aspect of social well-being.

Volunteering

If you are located in the Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania area and would like to volunteer, there are opportunities available. Employees who volunteer can participate in a range of group activities such as:

  • Helping to build a house
  • Helping to assemble furniture and hardware
  • Participating in community cleanups
  • Helping out in Habitat “ReStore” retail outlets

This is an outstanding opportunity for employees to embrace the Arkema values of solidarity and inclusion while acting as community ambassadors.

Supporting a Worthy Cause

Arkema has chosen to put its financial support behind the initiative to grow home ownership among families of color within the city of Philadelphia. This is highly aligned with our commitment toward diversity, equity and inclusion, while giving a nod to the city we love. In future years, we will also consider projects in other cities across the country that are equally important to Arkema and our employees.

We (and perhaps some of our customers) will also donate Arkema materials to the Habitat for Humanity network of construction professionals as well as Habitat’s retail outlets in Philadelphia.

Not Just a Slogan

The “Arkema Builds Community” message is not just a slogan. We view this entire engagement as an opportunity to build on several themes:

  • Sustainable materials, sustainable communities
  • Diversity, equity, inclusion
  • Customer partnerships
  • Employee engagement and solidarity
  • Community relationships

We are a leading organization with a strong corporate social responsibility commitment. This is our chance to put that commitment to work – to take action where action is most needed.

Other Arkema locations also support worthy causes local to our plant sites. Ask about local opportunities to give back to your community. Arkema also rewards volunteer efforts in our Well-Being Matters Program by awarding points for participation in volunteer activities.
